Abstract
Nutrition problem is the main problem of public health and indirectly –it can be prevented. The causes of malnutrition of fertile age woman is inadequate food consumption. To overcome this problem, the effort of medical staff is very important. This study was aimed to analyze correlating between food consumption and nutrition status of fertile age woman in nursing program students Faculty of Nursing Airlangga University. Design used in this study was cross sectional. 37 samples were recruited using consecutive sampling who met the inclusion criteria. The independent variables were food quality, food frequency, and total consumption calorie. The dependent variable was body mass index. Then, data analyzed using Spearman Rank Correlation with level of significance of S 0.05. Result showed that food quality had no correlation with nutrition status (p= 0.790), food frequency had correlation with nutrition status (p = 0.000), and total consumption calorie had correlation with nutrion status (p = 0.001). It can be concluded that food frequency and total consumption calorie have correlation with their nutrition status, but has no correlation with their food
quality. We suggested to promote this information to the student about nutrition. So, they have good nutrition. Futher studies should involve larger respondents and better measurement tools to obtain more accurate results.
