Abstract

Educational Games Tool is a tool that can optimize the game development of children, adjusted for age and developmental level. One means of stimulating cognitive skills, language, motor, and psychosocial child is with the toy. In play children still need a companion. The purpose of this study was to identify the influence of health education on knowledge, attitudes, and actions of parents in the selection of educational games equipment (ape) in pre-school age children (3-5) years. The design of this study using the method Quasy Experiment. Independent variable is the health education lecture method and the dependent variable is the knowledge, attitudes, and parents actions. Sampel in this study were taken by Non-Probability Sampling methods and use of purposive sampling technique and obtained 14 respondents, namely parents who meet the criteria for inclusion in PAUD Cahaya Surabaya. These data were taken at 3 to 7 January 2011 with using a questionnaire and observation. The results of this study were analyzed using the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test and Mann Whitney test with a significance value of knowledge the attitude is p = 0.007 p = 0.002, and the action is p = 0.026. Conclusion The results of this study is hea1th education have an influence on knowledge, attitudes, and actions of parents in the selection of toys educational at pre school age children. Advice for parents is to continue to play an active role in the process of development of the child. So the child can develop optimally.
