Abstract
Sub District of Ujung represent region with the greatest number of leper in Surabaya in 2007. Counted 50% society experience wrong perception about leprosy disease. Cause of the wrung per because had society stigmatisation to leprosy disease, lack of society. knowledge about leprosy disease. if problem of this perception do not immediately overcome by hence will result in leper feel lower itself. The wrong perception society have to is immediately eliminated in order that leper do not be excommunicated again_ This research purpose to analyse in of health education to change or society perception about leprosy disease. Research desain the used is Quasy Experimental Two Pre-Pori Testi Design. its population is society residing in work region sub-district of Ujung_ Research done from june '20 until July 5 2007. Interpretation method of sampel use Cluster Random Sampling totally sample 32 responder, Endependent variable is health education. Dependen variable is society perception about leprosy disease, Data collecting use quesioner sheet perception about leprosy. Data analysed to use Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test and Mann Whitney U Test with meaning level of Result of test Wilearon Signed Rank Test show at control have level of signifteanoei each that is p=0,102 and P=0,317 meaning there no change of perception, while at treatment group have level of signiticanci each that is p= 0,001and p=0,003 meaning there is change of perception. Result of test Mann Whitney U Test obtained by value of knowledge of p=0,005 an.d altitude of p=0,001, so hypothesis accepted, At this research earn concluded that health education can change society perception in region Sub-District of Ujung. This can become suggestion to puskesmas to do health education utilize to degrade society perceptions.
