Abstract

Profesional Nursing Practise Model (PNPM) is a professional practice that requires preparedness of those who involve in health care service, either the hospital or the nurses themselves. Studies on PNPM should, therefore, be continued since it may generate more advantageous results. This study Was aimed to identify the nurses' level of knowledge on the concept and advantages of PNPM application.This study used cross-sectional design, and it was undertaken in impatient wards of Jombang General Hospital. Respondents involved in this study were 30 individuals. The independent variable in this study was nurses knowledge on PNPM concept, while the dependent variable was the advantage ofPNPM appilcation. Data were taken using questionaire, and wereanalyzed by means of descriptives analysis. Spearmen Rank Correlation test was used to identify correlation between the concept and advantage of PNPM. Results showed that most of the nurses, consisting of 19 individuals (63.3%), who worked at impatiens wards, Jombang General Hospital, had a moderate level of knowledge on PNPM concept (36.7%), while no one included in less acceptable level. Regarding level of knowledge on the advantage of PNPM, those at acceptable level were 28 individuals (93.3%),and other 2 individuals were at moderate level ( 6. 7% ), and no one were found al less acceptable level. Results of Spearmen test showed that there was nocorrelation between nurses' level of knowledge on PNPM concept and their level of knowledge on PNPM attitude, with r5 of 0.203 and siginificance level of 0.281 (p>0.05). PNPM is a reliable methode that can be employed in order to developindependent, private, and professional service. The application of PNPM requires the hospital to provide adequate human resources and othersupporting facilities.
