Abstract

Perception about sexuality is important to know especially for menopause woman. Menopause phase will have many changes in physically and psychologically. One of these changes which happen and has a big influence in their life is sexuality desire with their partner. The aim of this research is to know the sexuality perception on menopause women. This research was qualitative phenomenology research which used in-depth interview. This research used purposive sampling with four people as the samples. The recording result of interview would be transcribed as the data. Data would be classified depend on the criteria and would be analyzed to get the good result. The results of interview to the respondent were almost the same. The frequency of respondents' sexual desire had decreased. After menopause the other side, sexual quality of the respondent and their partners' increase as long as the older age of respondent and their retire time of the partners. Respondents' attention was bigger to the partners beside sexuality, such as the partners' health. It could be concluded that after menopause phase the sexuality desire of a woman would be decreased. But the other thing beside it was more prominent exactly. The attention and love in menopause phase had more meaning than sexual activity. The harmonious of relationship more increased as long as the old age and plenty of time together with partner. Thus, the nurses could increase their human needs service in all aspects with individual perception understanding. Moreover, nurses could give sexuality counseling to perimenopause women.
