Abstract

Dysmenorrhea is menstrual pain that presents as cramps. Ranging from mild to severe, which may disturb daily activities. Dysmenorrhea can be treat with instruments of Mozart's Music therapy. The objective of this study was to analyze the effect of instruments of Mozart's music therapy in the reduction of menstrual pain (dysmenorrhea). This study used quasy experimental design. The population was first class of female students who had dysmenorrhea in SMK Medikal Samarinda. Sample recruited using purposive sampling, were 22 respondents, eleven of which instruments of Mozart's music therapy intervention, and the other eleven were control group. Data were collected using questionnaire and observation. Data were analyzed with Wilcoxon signed rank test, Mann whitney u test, Paired t test and Independent t test, with significant level of a. = 0,05. The result can be shown to know about of dysmenorrhea scale. In intervention groups, had significant value by using wilcoxon signed rank test are p = 0,005. To know about the difference was using Mann whitney u test, in the reduction of dysmenorrhea scale had significant value p = 0,049. It can be concluded that, so instruments of Mozart's Music therapy can effectively reduce the scale of dysmenorrhea pain. Further studies are needed using combined methods , with more number of sample and have the same adaptation with pain.
