Abstract

Enter hospital and taken care on hospital is unpleasant experience for patient. The impact that most often felt by patient are nervous, depression, insomnia and hard to concentrate. Nurse can help patient to found and solve his problem through therapeutic communication. In therapeutic communication, which need to attention by nurse are verbal communication, nurse attitude, and application of therapeutic communication. This research developed with apply cross sectional design, with research location on nerve room A and nerve room B RSUD Dr. Soetomo Surabaya with total of samples are 34 people. A variable in this research is communication therapeutic application by nurse in concretion of nursing intervention. Data obtained with apply observation method, data after tabulated then set in percentage form. The result ~( research show that on therapeutic therapy application, respondent's verbal communication is good (88 %), nurse attitude is good (73 %) and application of therapeutic communication is good enough (56%). Conclusion from the research application of therapeutic communication by nurse are good, however, application of therapeutic communication should more increased especially in application of therapeutic communication techniques.
