Abstract

Introduction. The increasing of health care caused the people to think critically to choose hospital health care. People of Sampang prefer to choosing health care in other city. The purpose of this study was to determined factors that related with interest in using health care of regional hospitaJ at Sampang. Methods. Design used in this study was cross sectional design. The population was patient that using health care in regional hospital Sampang. Sample was taken using purposive sampling based on inclusion criteria, consist of 35 people as respondents. The independent variable was interest in using regional hospital health care. Dependent variables were education, income, reference groups, facilities and infrastructure of hospitals, nursing skills and acceptance of new patients. Data were collected by structured questionnaire. Data were analyzed by Spearman's rho and Cbi square test with significant level a < 0,05. Result. Results showed that interest in using hospital health care had correlation with income (p = 0,007), the skills of nurses (p = 0,012) and acceptance of new patient. On the other side it had no correlation with education (p = 0,781) reference groups (p = 0,006), and hospital facilities and infrasructure (p = 0,528). Income factor was dominant factor that had correlation interest using hospital health care with correlation coefficient= 0,449. Discussion & conclusion. It can be concluded that enabling factor such as income related with patient's interest to use health care at regional hospital. Not on]y enabling factor, but also hospital factor such as nurses skill and acceptance of new patient related with interest to use regional hospital health care. Further studies should identify other factors that influence on interest in using health care such as health care cost, experience, and use different sample.
