Abstract

Female adolescents will be trying to looks attractive and adoption from their environments, likes their style for new trendsetter. The lack of infonnation regarding vulva hygiene among female adolescents influences an incidence of flour albus. The aim of this research is to study the effect of the health education about vulva hygiene to knowledge and attitude female adolescents at Kawung Senior High School 1 Surabaya. The research employed a pre-experimental design using static group comparison method. The sample include 33 respondents in the study group and 33 respondents in the control group. In the first day of the research period, the respondents in the study group were subject to a pre-test by providing them with questionnaire and afterward they obtained an health education. A posttest was perfonned on respondents both of group. The data collected were then analyzed using Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test and Mann-Whitney U Test. The results showed that health education concerning vulva hygiene significantly affected behavior and attitude of the female adolescents in preventing flour albus at Kawung Senior High School 1 Surabaya in which the results of the knowledge from the health education was significant at p=O.OOO, suggesting that the health education was significantly correlated with knowledge and attitude was significant at p=O.OOO, showing that the health education significantly influenced the female adolescents attitude in preventing flour albus at Kawung Senior High School 1 Surabaya. It can be conclude that the health education about vulva hygiene has effect in knowledge and attitude female adolescents in preventing flour albus.
