Abstract

This survey study was aimed to determine the prevalence of gastrointestinal nematode and to fmd out various kinds of the gastrointestinal nematode that infected calves of beef cattle at Mlandingan Subdistrict, Situbondo District. The benefits of this study are to contribute giving an additional information about the prevalence of gastrointestinal nematodosis on calves, especially in Mlandingan, and it can be used as a reference for preventive measures so as to monitor the possibility of infected calves nernatodosis earlier. Fifty fecal samples were taken randomly. Fecal samples were tested by native,sedimentation, and floatation methods. The results indicated that the infection level was 62%. Six species of worms could be detected which were Bunostomum ph/ebotomum, Oesophagustomum radiatum. Mecistocirrus digitatus, Trichuris globulosa, Toxocara vitulorum, and Cooperia pectinita.
