Abstract
The second trimester of pregnancy in primigravidae' mother is a healthy period (radian health). However there were husbands-wives who rarely or never perform sexual activities because of hesitation or fear of injuring the fetus in the womb or could cause miscarriage. So the pregnant women and their spouses need to be given sex education, by using the module. This study aims to analyze the effect of sex education module in changes in the knowledge and attitude of the husbands-wives of the second trimester pregnancy at Balongsari clinic Surabaya. This research was conducted using the pre-experimental research design with One Group Pretest-posttest Design. The samples were 24 primigravida couples in the second trimesters of pregnancy who met the inclusion criteria. The samples were retrieved using the total sampling method. The independent variable was the sex education module. Dependent variables were the knowledge of the husbands-wives and the husbands-wives attitudes. The data, before and after treatment, were collected using questionnaires and then processed by creating tables. The method of analysis was the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test with the significance level ofp $0.000. The results showed that the sex education modules had significant influence on changes in the knowledge and attitudes of the couples in the second trimesters of pregnancy. The statistical tests showed a significant value of p = 0.000. The research concluded that sex education 'module could increase the knowledge and attitude of the husbands-wives about sexual intercourse in the second trimesters of pregnancy.
