Abstract

Knowledge of adolescent reproductive health is very important so that teenagers do not fall on risk behavior, it is necessary for appropriate health education methods. The purpose of this research is to study the comparative monopoly game and lecture method on knowledge and attitudes about reproductive health in adolescents with Planned Behavior Theory approach. This research used Quasy Experiment Design, two group pretest and posttest. Population are aU students of VII degree in SMPN 3 Tuban, using proportionate stratified random, each group of sample, monopoly game and lecture method, contain 17 students. ColIec~ing data using knowledge and attitude questionnaires, were analyzed using the Wilcoxon signed rank test and MannWhitney test. The results showed that comparison of two methods are: 1) knowledge of monopoly game method group was significantly higher than the lecture group, p = 0.002; 2) attitude toward behavior of monopoly game group method is not significantly different than the lecture group, p = 0.11; 3) knowledge- attitude toward behavior of monopoly game group method is significantly higher than the lecture group, p = 0.034 Conclusion of the study is: ] )Monopoly game method is better used to increase knowledge of reproductive health in adolescents compared with the lecture method; 2) Both methods can be used to improve the attitude toward behavior on reproductive health in adolescents. Ado\escent reproductive health teachers can use monopoly game that made by researcher as an alternative media fun learning to increase the students' knowledge and attitudes.
