Abstract

Introduction : The choice of place of dclivciy foi pn:gr.a.-it womeii affects matciiia1 and infant mortality rates. The choice of place of birth for urban women is influenced by several factors. This study aims to analyze the factors associated with the choice of place of birth for urban women in Indonesia . Methods : A study was conducted by using secondary data analysis from the 2017 Indonesian uemographic and Health urvey among women aged from 15 to 4Y years. 1 he samples 6.90 l women were included in the analysis. Variables used on this study was maternal age, maternal occupation , maternal education, husband 's age, husband's occupation , husband's education , total chjldren , ownersrup of insurance, wealth , and birth attendants. Instrument used 2017 Indonesian Demographic and Health Survey. Researchers used univariate , bivariate and multivariate logistic regression analysis to analyze the factors of the choice of place of birth for urban women . Results: The results showed that the factors associated with the choice of place of delivery in urban women were maternal education (OR = 0.88; 95% Cl = 0. 19-3.96), mother's occupation (OR = 1.23; 95% CI = 0.95-1.59 ), husband' s education, (OR = 0.48; 95% CI = 0. 15-1.54), insurance ownership (OR = 0.65 95% CJ = 0.50-0.84), wealth (OR = 0 ,64 95% CI = 0.44-0.92), and bi.rth attendant (OR = 13.309; 95% CI = 20.49-738.73).
