Abstract

Infections caused by wound can lead to death. Bacterium that enter into open skin tissue causing infections. Wound is damage to the continuity of skin tissue that can occur by various causes. It can become a problem if not treated, particularly during the healing process. In mangosteen peel contained a substance that serves as an anti-inflammatory. The purpose of this research was to determine the difference in the effectiveness of NaCI or normal saline with a decoction of the mangosteen peel to incision wound healing. This researcb used a true experiment with pre-post control design. There are 18 marmots used in this research. Tbey were divided into two groups: the treatment and the control groups using random sampling. The independent variables used were decoction mangosteen peel. For instead the pbase of inflammation (redness, edema, plasma incision) and proliferative phase (granulation, and the unification of the wound edges) were used as dependen variable. Observations done on the second day, fourth, sixth, eighth, and tenth. Data were analyzed using Independent Sample Test and Mann-Whitney Test witb a significance of p SO.05. The results of this study showed there is no any significant difference between the treatment group and the control group. Redness indicates p = 1.000, fluid sbowed p = 1.000, granulation sbowed p = 1.000 and wound edges indicates p = 0.063. It can be concluded that tbere was no significant difference between treatments using the decoction of mangosteen peel with control. Further studies sbould analyze microscopic to obtain more accurate results, analyze the content of mangosteen peel, and examine tbe optimal dose for healing process.
