Abstract

Nursing assessment is the most important component in the nursing process because it will be basic for the nurse during doing nursing care. Nursing assessment may establish successfully nursing process continued. The objective of this study was to identify effectively of Review of System nursing assessment approach and nursing assessment approach that used in the surgical ward of RSUD Dr. Soetomo Surabaya. This study was an explorative observational. A total of 30 respondents were selected by means of purposive sampling. From those respondents, 15 individuals using Review of System nursing assessment model, and other 15 individual using surgical ward of RSUD Dr.Soetomo nursing assessment model. The variable in this study was nursing assessment model and effectively of nursing assessment approach. Nursing assessment model consisting of Review of System nursing assessment approach and nursing assessment approach that used in the surgical ward of RSUD Dr.Soetomo Surabaya. Effectively of nursing assessment approach consisting completely and accurately. Data were collected using Review of System form and RSUD form and analyzed with Chi-Square with p=<0,05 Result of analysis on effectively of nursing assessment approach between Review of System model and RSUD model revealed p=0,010, indicating that there was significant, it means the Review of System nursing assessment approach more effective used in patient with surgical problem To get a good nursing assessment, should use sing for the patient with surgical problem ought to use Review of System nursing assessment approach
