Abstract

Online learning during COVID-19 has an impact on increasing stress and decreasing learning motivation. Students need family support because family is the closest environment for students. The purpose of this study was to analyze the relationship between family support and the level of stress and learning motivation of regular students of the Faculty of Nursing during the COVID-19 pandemic. Methods: This study used a descriptive correlational design with a cross-sectional approach. There were 149 students from a population of204 students in the Nursing S I study program at Airlangga University. Determination of respondents using simple random sampling technique according to the inclusion and exclusion criteria. The independent variable is family support. The dependent variable is the level of stress and learning motivation. Data were collected by questionnaire and analyzed using chi-square test with a significance level of <0.05. Result: The results of the chi-square test showed that there was a relationship between family support and stress levels (p=0.026) and learning motivation (p=O.OOO). Discussion: There is a relationship between family support and stress levels and learning motivation of students at the Faculty of Nursing, Universitas Airlangga Surabaya during the COVJD-19 pandemic. The better family support, will represent better student's learning motivation and sires level. Stress level is caused by many factors, such as gender and the area where students live, families can provide support, both informational, reward, emotional or instrumental support to overcome stress and increase student learning motivation
