Abstract

Puzzle media is an interesting way to teach children English. Puzzle media also helps children remember things better. This report looks at the level of vocabulary based on CEFR and the types of nouns used in an activity puzzle. This report uses two tools to collect data: puzzles and observation. To find out the level and type of noun the author uses the Cambridge website for the references in his research method. The purpose of this research is to find out the level of vocabulary used in each word in the puzzle, so the author can find out the target users who are appropriate for the puzzle she made. The target users are chosen based on the level of words used in the puzzle. There are two results in this report. First, there are several levels used in this puzzle from the A1 level to the C2 level. Second, two types of nouns are most often found in this puzzle which are common nouns and concrete nouns. After completing this research, the author concludes that choosing the right word level for the target users is very important in creating effective learning media, especially for EFL students.
