Abstract
According to Gibson & Hester, (2015) quotations are the basis of all news stories. If the sources are provided in a foreign language, the journalist must translate them. For translating quotations, the strategy from Baker (2018) is chosen. This study proposed to find the problems and solve it using the appropriate strategies. The result is, that there are two most used strategies in translating direct quotations; Translation by omission (35%), and Translation by paraphrasing related words (26%). Based on the result, I suggested that the English Department use this strategy in the translation study.
