Abstract
In rewriting international hard news, journalists must pay attention to the news sources they will use. News sources must contain news value and come from trusted sources. The analysis shows that there are nine news values based on Asripilyadi: unusualness, newness, impact, timeliness, proximity, information, conflict, prominence, and surprising. The news source must be at least 3 of the news value to guarantee that the news is worthy of rewriting. In the process of rewriting, journalists must first read the whole story and sort out which facts should be written down and which ones should not be written down. In rewriting news, journalists can use a trans-editing strategy. This strategy is a strategy as well as translating the news content. The analysis shows that four strategies can help rewrite news, according to Schrijver, Van Vaerenbergh, and Ban Waes; addition, deletion, restructuring, and substitution. These four strategies will make it easier for journalists to rewrite international news.
