Abstract

This study explores mothers’ lived experiences of parental alienation (PA) across different cultural contexts. Using a qualitative case study design, this research involved four mothers and three significant others. Data were collected through in-depth online interviews and analyzed thematically. Findings revealed five major themes: navigating alienation, emotional and structural challenges, meaning-making, coping mechanisms, and identity adaptation. The results indicate that parental alienation is socially constructed through misogyny and institutional bias.
