Abstract

Low or poor solubility possessed by rutin can affect the mechanism of action of drugs in the body. Therefore, it is necessary to make preparations into nanosuspensions in order to produce nano-shaped drug particles in the hope of increasing the solubility of rutin which will also increase bioavailability. The nanosuspension system works by trapping the routine in the system using Eudragit L100 polymer and the combination of surfactants used is Poloxamer 188 and Poloxamer 407. The difference between the two formulas lies nanosuspension system was tested for physical and chemical characteristics including particle size, microscopy and DSC tests. Dissolution, FTIR, %EE, and %DL tests were also performed. The particle test showed that the nanosuspension system had met the particle size for nano. In the microscopic test it can be seen how the physical state of the nanosuspension system is. DSC shows that F1 has a sharper result than F2. The dissolution test showed that the nanosuspension system had been successful in increasing the solubility of a single rutin. %EE and %DL in both formulas showed good rutin entrapment because they reached 90.462%. FTIR showed that there was no chemical interaction between Eudragit L100 polymer, which could be seen from the absence of changes in the rutin functional groups.
