Abstract

"Vannamei shrimp (Litopenaeus vannamei) is a leading aquaculture commodity that has a significant price on the world market. The full demand for shrimp requires serious attention in vaname hatchery, with the aim of getting maximum yields and being able to meet market needs. The purpose of this study was to determine the prevalence and degree of infestation, as well as to determine differences in prevalence and degree of ectoparasite infestation in semi-intensive vaname shrimp. The method used in this study uses a survey method, which is a systematic, factual, and accurate method of observing the facts and characteristics of the population or in a certain area. The average value of the prevalence of ectoparasites that attack vannamei shrimp in semi-intensive aquaculture in ponds A and B is 53.6% and is in the very frequent category, while the average value of the degree of ectoparasite infestation in vannamei shrimp is 41.22 (ind. /tail) and is in the usual category. The prevalence value of ectoparasites in vannamei shrimp using the SPSS Chi Square test, obtained the Asymp value. sig 0.005 lower than the Asymp value. sig 0.05 data results with (0.005 <0.05), while the value of the degree of ectoparasite infestation with the Mann Withney test, get the Asymp value. sig 0.003 lower than the Asymp value. sig 0.05 data results with (0.003 <0.05). The results of data analysis showed that there was a significant difference between the prevalence and degree of ectoparasite infestation in pools A and B with categories (p < 0.05) "
