Abstract

This study aims to know the availability of animal medicines containing antibiotics from the poultry shop and pet shop in Surabaya. This study classified as a survey research, using method of descriptive quantitative test. From this research, it was found fifteen poultry shops and fourty-one pet shops. Ninety of animal drugs containing antibiotics were randomly collected in nine poultry shops and twenty-five pet shops in Surabaya. Data analysis was done using fisher exact test with a=5%. The result shows that antibiotics tetracycline, chloramphenicol, aminoglycoside, sulfonamide, metronidazole, and beta-lactam were found from nine poultry shops and twenty-five pet shop in the city of Surabaya. As conclusion, there is no significant difference between the hypothesis and data collected from the field. In facts, animal drugs containing antibiotics tetracycline, chloramphenicol, aminoglycoside, sulfonamide, metronidazole, and beta-lactam were still found in the poultry shop an pet shop in Surabaya with a confidence level of 95%.
