Abstract

Bleeding is one of the causes of fluid-bugan disorder if not treated immediately cause shock that ends in multiple ogran failure. Orthopedic surgery is one of the surgery causes mayor bleeding. Fluid therapy is given to prevent inadequate tissue perfusion. The study was conducted to identify the usage of fluids in orthopedic surgery and describe outcomes of fluid therapy through clinical data and laboratory data. It was retrospective observational descriptive with time-limited sampling method that perform during January- December 2019 period. The inclusion criterias were patien who underwent orthopedic surgery and treated with fluid therapy in that period. The fluid therapy used in this study were crystalloid and colloid. RL and NaCl 0.9% is kind of crystalloid fluid that are widely used for therapy. Gelatin is kind of colloid fluid that used for therapy. Serum creatinin, PT, APTT and electrolyte changed after fluid administration. Changes in these values do not cause clinical disorder in patient. The type and dose of fluid therapy is determined by patient’s condition.
