Abstract

"Sexist attitudes toward women have already been common not only in society but also in Sexist attitudes toward women have already been common not only in society but also in movies. This could be seen in the movie entitled Misbehaviour, which was released in 2020; it appears that most of the scenes where men characters in the movie are giving sexist discrimination toward women characters. This research focuses on examining sexist attitudes in the Misbehaviour movie by applying Internalized Sexism Theory by Steve Bearman, Neill Korobov, and Avril Thorne form of Feminist Criticism as well as using a descriptive qualitative approach. The qualitative approach that is used in this study is in the form of close-watching.The result reveals that the film Misbehaviour contains all types of internalized sexism, including feelings of powerlessness, competition between women, objectification, and invalidation, as well as the resistance displayed by female characters toward the sexist attitudes they received. "
