Abstract

The aim of this study was to the effect of provision of porang (Amorphophallus oncophyllus) tuber extract on creatinine levels in rats (Rattus norvegicus) that suffer diabetes mellitus. The research used 30 male rats as experimental animals which divided into six groups; C(-) as negative control which were given CMC Na 1%, C(+) as positive control which were given alloxan 120 mg/kgBW, TO were given metformine 45 mg/kgBW, T1 were given alloxan 120 mg/kgBW and porang tuber extract 100 mg/kgBW, T2 were given alloxan 120 mg/kgBW and porang tuber extract 200 mg/kgBW, T3 were given alloxan 120 mg/kgBW and porang tuber extract 400 mg/kgBW. Samples were taken on day 21st . Then the data were compared using Kruskal Wallis Test. It can be concluded that provision of porang (Amorphophallus oncophyllus) tuber extract has an effect to decrease creatinine levels in rats (Rattus norvegicus) that suffer diabetes mellitus.
