Abstract

Background : Contact dermatitis is an inflammatory skin response that can be caused by several things. This inflammatory reaction is most often caused by external compounds that will become allergens or irritants to the body. Aim : This study used a descriptive observational study design aimed at evaluating the profile of contact dermatitis patients. Method : The sampling technique used in this study is a total sampling technique and will be processed with excel descriptively. Result : From 227 samples in this study, the most frequent age that diagnosed with contact dermatitis is the 20 until 45 years old age group with 104 patients (45.5%). The most frequent gender that diagnosed with contact dermatitis is female with 164 (72.2%) patients. Meanwhile the most frequent occupation distribution that diagnosed contact dermatitis is private employee with 70 or 30.8% of the population. From the anamnesis, it can be interpreted that cosmetics is the most frequent Suspected Causative Agent of contact dermatitis with 63 (35.2%) patients have cosmetics as their Suspected Causative Agent. The most frequent distribution of patient’s complaint is itch with 189 (44.1%) patients complaining itch when they have contact dermatitis. Face is being the most frequent location of contact dermatitis with 106 (30.8%) patient having contact dermatitis in their face. Meanwhile erythematous macula is being the most frequent clinical manifestation that happened in the patient with 212 (45.9%) patients having erythematous macula as their clinical manifestation. The diagnosis of contact dermatitis is divided into ACD with 137 (60.4%) patients and ICD 90 (39.6%) patients. For the therapy, the most frequent topical therapy that is given to the patient is corticosteroid with total of 166 (53.2%) patients is prescribed corticosteroid as their topical medication. Meanwhile the most systemic therapy that patient have is antihistamine with total of 116 (73.8%) patients prescribed antihistamine as their systemic therapy medication.
