Abstract

Randu (Ceiba pentandra (L.) Gaertn.) is one of the plant that can be used as plant medicine, especially as tradisional herb. In development of standardization of tradisional product, it’s necessary conducting a standardization to ensure the quality of traditional medicine products. Standard parameter which used in this research refers to Herbal Pharmacopoeia of Indonesia. The results of the study standardization Randu’s leaves simplicia (Ceiba pentandra (L.) Gaertn.) are devided form two different regions namely Surabaya and Malang. The result of the standard parameter of Randu’s leave simplicia are Water soluble extractive Surabaya 15.15 + 0.1938% and water soluble extractive Malang 15.09 + 0.0841%; Ethanol soluble extractive Surabaya 8.08 + 0.1184% and Ethanol soluble extractive Malang 8.09 + 0.1229%; The TLC’s chromatography pattern showed the Rf is 0.35 for Randu leaves from both regions and the standar. Sterol total content which used KLT-Dencitometry method, Surabaya 0.04 + 0.0013% and Sterol total content Malang 0.03 + 0.0004%; Ash content Surabaya 9.85 + 0.0798% and Ash content Malang 10.60 + 0.0816%; Acid insoluble ash content Surabaya 1.89 + 0.0356% and Acid insoluble ash content Malang 1.12 + 0.0402%; Volatile metter Surabaya 10.44 + 0.1700% and Volatile metter Malang 10.27 + 0.0096%; Water content Surabaya 9.00 + 0.0002% and Water content Malang 8.67 + 0.5776%. The result of this study is important as standard parameter in herbal drug development.
