Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine the spesific and non spesific standard parameters of 96% ethanol extract of mindi leaves (Melia azedarach L.) from Batu and Gresik. The result of the non specific parameters of 96% ethanol extract of mindi leaves showed 11.8% and 13.0% of yield extract from Batu and Gresik, 15.52%±0.31 and 13.06%±0.14 of loss on drying content from Batu and Gresik, 11.33%±0.58 and 10.33%±0.58 of water content from Batu and Gresik, 3.21%±0.15 and 5.56%±0.04 of total ash content from Batu and Gresik, 0.18%±0.01 and 0.39%±0.07 of acid insoluble ash content from Batu and Gresik, respectively. The specific parameter of 96% ethanol extract of mindi leaves showed 51.74%±0.35 and 42.02%±0.50 of water soluble extractive from Batu and Gresik, 64.91%±0.44 and 67.65%±0.49 of ethanol soluble extractive from Batu and Gresik, 0.41%±0.02 and 0.90%±0.06 of sterols content from Batu and Gresik, respectively. Chromatograph pattern by TLC showed that mindi from Batu and Gresik have sterol content that compared by β-sitosterol.
