Abstract

Penelitian ini membahas pergerakan PERWARI di Yogyakarta. Tujuan penelitian adalah untuk mengetahui aktivitas PERWARI DIY dalam memperjuangkan hak-hak perempuan di Yogyakarta pada tahun 1946-1998. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode penelitian Sejarah, yang terdiri dari, heuristik, kritik atau verifikasi, interpretasi, dan historiografi. PERWARI DIY berdiri tahun 1946 sebagai organisasi cabang PERWARI Pusat. Fokus perjuangan PERWARI DIY adalah meningkatkan derajat kaum perempuan melalui pendidikan. Mereka memberikan pengetahuan kepada kaum perempuan melalui seminar, pelatihan-pelatihan, dan penyuluhan tentang berbagai hal agar kaum perempuan sadar akan kedudukannya di masyarakat. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini, usaha PERWARI DIY dalam memperjuangkan hak-hak perempuan melalui pendidikan dan pelaksanaan undang-undang perkawinan memunculkan perubahan sosial bagi masyarakat, terutama kedudukan kaum perempuan di Yogyakarta. Translation: This study discusses about PERWARI DIY movement in Yogyakarta. The purpose of research is to determine activities of PERWARI DIY in fighting for women’s right in 1946-1998. This research use historical method which consists of heuristic, criticism or verification, interpretation, and historiography. PERWARI DIY established in 1946 as branch organization of PERWARI. Their struggle was focused to improve the position of women with education. They provided knowledge for women through seminar, training, ang counseling about various thing. They did it in order to women were aware of their position in society. The conclusion of this research is PERWARI DIY efforts in fighting for women’s right with education and implementation of law marriage caused social change for people, especially women position in Yogyakarta.
