Abstract
Skripsi ini membahas aktivitas ovarium sapi Bali betina yang diperoleh dari Rumah Potong Hewan Pesanggaran, Denpasar, Bali. Penelitian dilakukan karena aktivitas reproduksi sapi betina merupakan salah satu faktor penting dalam peningkatan populasi dan produktivitas ternak sapi Bali. Penelitian menggunakan 60 pasang ovarium sapi Bali betina yang berasal dari sapi berumur sekitar 4–6 tahun dan masih tergolong produktif. Sampel diperoleh melalui incidental sampling dari Rumah Potong Hewan Pesanggaran Denpasar. Ovarium kemudian dipisahkan dari saluran alat kelamin dan diperiksa secara makroskopis, khususnya terhadap struktur dan perkembangan pada bagian korteks ovarium. Parameter yang diamati meliputi: keberadaan folikel masak (folikel de Graaf); keberadaan corpus luteum (CL); perbandingan aktivitas ovarium kanan dan kiri; kejadian folikel masak yang disertai corpus luteum. Daftar isi menunjukkan penelitian mencakup pembahasan mengenai ovarium, siklus reproduksi, pubertas, siklus birahi, gangguan fungsi ovarium, corpus luteum persisten, dan hipofungsi ovarium.
