Abstract

Increase of layer feed price has force the layer farmers to find alternative layer feed with fair price. Fish meal is often used in layer feed producing but still has many shortage. Therefore, the layer farmers tried to find cheaper alternative material to substitute fish meal which give optimum result. This study used 112 chicken from Strain hysex brown 58 weeks of aged. The design of the study was completely randomized design with four treatments and seven repetitions. The treatment were given consist of Po composition using 33% commercial feed, PI using 6% fish meal, P2 using 6% meat bone meal, P3 using 3% fish meal and 3% meat bone meal. The fe~d treatment was given by ad-libitum twice a day at morning and afternoon. The result of the study was analyzed with analysis of varian. The result of the study showed that the usage of fish meal and meat bone meal did not perform significant difference (p>O.05) on feed consumption, eggs production, and feed conversion. PI treatment showed the highest economic value from other treatment. PI treatment performed more benefits than another treatment. In conclusion fish meal could be substituted by Meat bone meal as an alternative material of layer feed.
