Abstract
Masyarakat Indonesia sudah sangat mengenal itik, karena merupakan jenis unggas kedua penghasil telur setelah ayam. Saat ini dan pada masa mendatang, kegemaran masyarakat mengkonsumsi telur sudah tidak diragukan lagi. Ini didukung dengan produksi telur ayam ras petelur yang sebagian dicukupi oleh telur ayam buras maupun telur itik, berturut-turut adalah 751,1 dan 201,7 ton (Ditjennak, 2006)
