Abstract

Formalin is trademark of fo rmaldehyde solution in water with concentration 37 % until 40 %. Formalin commonly used as disinfectants and have characteristic to harden protein so it is used to stuff the human corpse. The others, formalin also used as antiseptic to kill bacteria especially to wash medic equipments, Germicide and used in animals' skin processing . . Generally, the aim of this research is to study and analyze the effect of deformalination on formalin level in fish. This research was experimental research. Fish that used in this research was kembung fish (Rastrelliger sp) that liked by East Java societies. This research consists of two steps: First step, kembung fish that had been conditioned in formalin level was immersed in fresh water, warm water and salty water with the time of immersion consist of30 minutes and 60 minutes. The amounts of combination treatments were as many as 6 treatments and every treatment was repeated as many as 4 times so that the total of experiment was 24 times. The laboratory examining was done to know the formalin level in fish as many as twice, they were before and after the implemented of treatment. The examining of formalin level was done with Rapid Test Kit Aqua Merck Formaldehyde No. 108028001. Furthermore it was done the organoleptik examining suitable with Anonymous (1995)
