Abstract
The source communication media is increasingly sophisticated today. Video documentary is one of the audio-visual media that plays a role in the advancement of communication media. The video requires a subtitle, in order to provide the explanation and description. The author studies 10 strategies described by Gottlieb, namely expansion, paraphrase, transfer, imitation, condensation, deletion, resignation, taming, decimation, dislocation. The author uses three main data, namely video as the main data, taking notes, and observation. As a result, when working on this final project, only six were used by the author to analyze the subtitle results, namely expansion, paraphrase, transfer, imitation, condensation, deletion.
