Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of vaccination Outer membrane protein Aeromonas hydrophila on histopathological features of nile tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) intestinal. Twenty of nile tilapia with an average weight of 40 grams and 10-12 cm length were randomly divided into four treatment groups (P0 (-), P0 (+), P1 and P2) and five repetition. P0 (-) (control, not vaccinated and not infected), P0 (+) (not vaccinated then infected by Aeromonas hydrophila), P1 (nile tilapia whole cell protein vaccine "Hydrovac®" then infected by Aeromonas hydrophila), P2 (vaccinated nile tilapia Outer Membrane Protein is then infected with Aeromonas hydrophila). Histopathological observations included all parts of the intestine with epithelial damage, congestion and edema, inflammatory cell infiltration which would then be analyzed using the Kruskal Wallis test, if there were significant differences (p <0.05) between treatments, the test results continued with Man-Whitney. The results of the study show that the level of damage to treatment P2 is lower than P0 (+) and P1. This shows that P2 is effective in reducing damage to the intestine of nile tilapia.
