Abstract

Gagal ginjal kronis (GGK) merupakan sebuah penyakit yang menyebabkan menurunnya fungsi ginjal manusia. Penderita GGK akan kehilangan fungsi ginjalanya secara perlahan. Kerusakan ginjal tersebut tidak dapat diperbaiki dan bersifat permanen. Studi ini memfokuskan pada tindakan sosial yang dilakukan penderita GGK dalam proses penyembuhan penyakit serta penyebab yang melatarbelakangi mereka melakukan tindakan tersebut. Paradigma yang digunakan untuk menjawab permasalahan dalam penelitian ini adalah paradigma definisi sosial dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Teori yang digunakan yakni teori tindakan sosial dan teori aksi dari Max Weber. Informan dalam penelitian ini adalah lima orang laki-laki penderita GGK yang tinggal dan menjalani proses penyembuhan di Surabaya. Teknik pengambilan sampel yang digunakan adalah purpossive. Metode pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini adalah wawancara mendalam dan partisipasi langsung di lapangan. Hasil yang ditemukan dalam penelitian ini antara lain: 1)Tindakan sosial yang dilakukan oleh penderita GGK dalam proses penyembuhan penyakitnya adalah rasional-instrumental, rasional-nilai, dan tradisional; dan 2) Sebab yang melatarbelakangi tindakan yang dilakukan penderita GGK adalah kondisi sosial budaya dan ekonomi dari masing-masing penderita GGK. Translation: Chronic kidney disease (CKD) is a disease causing the decrease of human renal function. People with CKD would lose their kidney function slowly. The damage was irreversible and permanent. This study was focusing on social action took by people with CKD in the healing process of the disease and the background of the action. Paradigm used to answered the question in this research was social definition paradigm. Theory used in this research was action theory and social action theory by Max Weber. Interviewee in this research was five men with CKD whom lived and did their healing process in Surabaya. Specifically, this research took place at two hospita in Surabaya, RSUD dr. Soetomo and Husada Utama Hospital. Sampling technique used in this research was purpossive. Methods used in collecting data were indepth interview and direct participation on the field. Result found in this research were: 1) Social action took by people with CKD in their healing process of the disease were zweck-rational, wert-rational, and traditional; and 2) The cause of the action they took were the social cultural and economic condition form each of the people with CKD.
