Abstract

Karawitan merupakan salah satu kesenian asli dari Indonesia, di mana karawitan sendiri sudah banyak dikenal oleh masyarakat Jawa sebagai kesenian tradisional dari kebudayaan mereka. Namun, pada saat sekarang ini kesenian tradisional tersebut semakin kurang diminati oleh generasi mudah, dan justru generasi mudah lebih mencintai kesenian dari budaya asing yang dianggap lebih menarik dari pada kesenian tradisional. Oleh karena itu, adanya kegiatan ekstrakurikuler karawitan tersebut sangat penting untuk diselenggarakan di sekolah, agar generasi mudah lebih mencintai kesenian tradisional dan dapat melestarikan kesenian karawitan tersebut. Dalam penelitian ini, metode yang digunakan adalah metode kualitatif yang hasil penelitian ini akan disajikan secara deskriptif, di mana data yang diperoleh dari penelitian ini di lapangan akan dianalisis dengan menggunakan metode pengajaran sistem among dan teori trikon dari Ki Hajar Dewantara untuk dapat melihat bagaimana proses pengajaran ektrakurikuler karawitan sekaligus juga tujuan dari adanya kegiatan ektrakurikuler karawitan SDK Santa Theresia 1 Surabaya. Dari hasil penelitian ini dapat memberi gambaran bagaimana kegiatan ekstrakurikuler karawitan di SDK Santa Theresia 1 Surabaya menjadi wadah untuk menampung minat dan bakat para siswa yang mengikuti ektrakurikuler tersebut, sekaligus juga dapat memberi penjelasan bagaimana usaha sekolah untuk memperkenalkan kebudayaan tradisional kepada para siswa. Translation: Karawitan was one of the original arts from Indonesia, where Karawitan it self had been widely known by Javanese people as a traditional art of their culture. However, at the present time this traditional art was less enthused to the young generation, and even the young generation loved art from foreign cultures that were considered more attractive than the traditional arts. Therefore, Karawitan extracurricular activity was very important to be held in schools, so that the young generation more loved traditional art and could preserve Karawitan art. In this study, the method used was qualitative method in which the results of this study would be presented descriptively, where the data obtained from this research in the field would be analyzed by using the method of among teaching system and trikon theory by Ki Hajar Dewantara in order to be able to see how the teaching process of Karawitan extracurricular as well as the purpose of the Karawitan extracurricular activity in SDK Santa Theresia 1 Surabaya. From the results of this study, it could give an illustration of how Karawitan extracurricular activity in SDK Santa Theresia 1 Surabaya became a place to accommodate the interests and talents of the students who joined the extracurricular, at once could also provide an explanation of how the school’s efforts to introduce the traditional culture to the students.
