Abstract

Adolescence is defined as a period where a person shows signs of puberty and the most frequently used criteria for determining the onset of puberty in females is menarche. Menarche is the first menstruation of women which generally occurs around 10-16 years. The longer the age of menarche to shift to a younger age and can cause problems such as breast cancer and teenage pregnancy outside marriage. The purpose of this study was to compare and determine the relationship of mother’s age of menarche, nutritional status (BMI), physical activity / exercise, exposure to mass media, and parental socioeconomic status (education, parental income, number of family members) to the age of menarche between student in MTs. Pondok Pesantren Daruttaqwa and SMP Negeri 1 Gresik. The methode of this study is analytic observasional, and cross sectional design. Samples taken amounted to 378 respondents. The factors examined included maternal age of menarche, nutritional status (BMI), physical activity / exercise, exposure to mass media, and parental socioeconomic status (education, parental income, family size). Data analysis includes univariate and bivariate analyzes. The statistical analysis used in this study is a comparison test Independent T-test and Spearman's rho correlation test with α = 5%. The study is said to significantly when p value <0.05. The results showed that no significant difference between the age of menarche girls in MTs. Pondok Pesantren Daruttaqwa with SMP Negeri 1 Gresik. Correlation test showed that no significant correlation between the factors with age of menarche among girls in MTs. Pondok Pesantren Daruttaqwa and SMP Negeri 1 Gresik. The conclusion of this study is that no significant difference in age of menarche among girls MTs. Pondok Pesantren Daruttaqwa with SMP Negeri 1 Gresik and no significant correlation between the factors with age of menarche among girls in MTs. Pondok Pesantren Daruttaqwa and SMP Negeri 1 Gresik. Advice for MTs. Pondok Pesantren Daruttaqwa and SMP Negeri 1 Gresik. to give education about reproductive health.
