Abstract
Illness and hospitalization created a stressful) experience for the children. For school age children who cared in hospitals, generally respond will be shown are depression, frustation and hostily. It can caused they had limited number of coping mechanism to resolved the stressfull event. So the psicology adaptation level on school age children still are mal adaptive. One of the effective method to minimizing this situation was play therapy. For school age children, play therapy which can be given are play therapy : games. The purpose of this study was to analized the effect of play therapy : games to psicology adaptation level on school age children in Child Anggrek Room General Hospital Kabupaten Gresik. This study method was Quasy Eksperiment Research (Non randomized Control Group Pretest – Postest Design) with non-probability sampling (Purposive Sampling). The population was child on school age children who had cared in Child Anggrek Room General Hospital Kabupaten Gresik with accounted 24 patients who having all studies criteria. Data will be selected by observation list and will be analized with Friedman Test with post hoc analize Wilcoxon Sign Rank Test and Mann Whitney Test with significant P < 0.005. The data which got from observation list showed there were effect of play therapy : games to psicology adaptation level on school age children in Child Anggrek room General Hospitals Kabupaten Gresik with significant level p = 0.002 after intervention. It can be concluded that play therapy : games could increase the psicology adaptation level on school age children to adaptive level. And for suggestion play therapy : games could be one of the alternatif method to reduce mal adaptive respond hospitalization on school age children especially in Child Anggrek Room General Hospitals Kabupaten Gresik.
