Abstract

Background. Composite resin technology is growing, in the end of 2003 found containing composite resin filling material that has been using nanotechnology systems. Among others nanohybrid and nanofiller which have been widely used. One drawback of the composite resin is a high level of wear resistance, wear abration can be caused by a low pH saliva in the oral cavity. Wear resistance of composite resins is associated with a lower surface hardness. Purpose. The aim of this study was to compare surface hardness between nanohybrid composite resin and nanofiller composite resin after stored in low ph saliva sintetic during 30 days Method. An experimental labolatory study,24 samples divided into 4 groups. Every samples received different treatment : (1) nanohybrid composite resin as control group (immersed in netral pH(7) of saliva synthetic) (2) nanofiller composite resin as control (immersed in netral pH(7) of saliva synthetic) (3) nanohybrid composite resin as treatment group (immersed in low pH(4) saliva synthetic) (4) nanofiller composite resin as treatment group (immersed in low pH(4) saliva sinthetic). All group immersed during 30 days. Surface hardness of all the samples were measured by Vickers Microhardness Tester. Datas were analized with Independent “t” test. Results. There were not significant different of surface hardness between nanohybrid and nanofiller composite after stored in low pH saliva sintetic during 30 days.Conclusion. Nanohybrid surface hardness is higher than nanofiller, bu there were not significant different of surface hardness
