Abstract
Background: Six Keys to normal occlusion by Andrews, describes six general characteristics of 120 models of optimal natural occlusion, which should be the goal orthodontic treatment. It is the sixth key, molar relationship, angulation, inclination, rotation, tooth contact, and the curve of Spee. Among the six keys to normal occlusion, the correct position of the long axis of the mesiodistal tooth crown contribute to achieving a balance occlusion and system stomatognatic. Normal occlusion distal crown tipping depends on the exact mainly from the upper anterior teeth, because the rectangle occupies a wider space when tipped than when upright, so that the level of mesiodistal tipping determine the amount of space they occupy, and therefore, has a great influence on occlusion posterior and anterior aesthetics and arch. Purpose: To determine the anterior angulation in normal occlusion and to determine the relation of anterior angulation and intercanine width in normal occlusion FKG UNAIR student. Methods: This study is an analityc observational study using total sampling. The sample from FKG UNAIR student. Researcher measured the study models of FKG UNAIR student. Standarized photograph of study models was taken, then measured with protractor No.19 (Shinhwa). Intercanine width was measured with caliper. Result: Repeated test to determine the differences between two measurement obtained a significance 0.073. p>0.05, there is no difference in the first measurement and the second one. The analysis data for the correlation between anterior angulation and intercanine width p> 0.05 except for teeth 33 p= 0.047 (p<0.05). Conclusion: There was no correlation between anterior teeth angulation and intercanine width in normal occlusion, except for teeth 33 angulation and intercanine width there was a correlation between them.
