Abstract

Background Centella asiatica is reputed medical plant used in the treatment of various diseases including as a hepatoprotector. Purpose This objectif study was to prove hepatoprotector effect of terpenoid fraction of Centella asiatica. Method The study was done on 35 Mus musculus that divide into 5 groups, negative control, positife control, and 3 group of terpenoid fraction treatment. The terpenoid fraction divide into 3 concentration, 5,6mg/kgBW, 11,2mg/kgBW, 22,4mg/kgBW. It gived per oral once a day on 6 day on treatment groups, 1% CMC gived to negative control and positife control. In the 6th day, 250mg/kgBW of paracetamol gived to all groups. Blood was taken on day after that it sent to the laboratorium for SGPT test. The result were compared and examined with Anova and LSD test. Result The result was the decreasing of SGPT when terpenoid fraction applied compared to the positif control group. Conclusion The study shows that terpenoid fraction of Centella asiatica have hepatoprotector effect. Terpenoid fraction concentration 5,6mg/kgBW shows as the optimal dose on decreasing Mus musculus blood SGPT.
