Background. Propolis is a resinous mixture that honey bees collected from tree buds, sap flows, or other botanical sources it is used as a sealant for unwanted open spaces in the hive. Most active contents in propolis is flavonoid (50 to 55%) from resin and balsam. The prevalence of RAS based on international graphic between 5 to 66%. The existence of polybacteria was predicted in RAS lesion. Purpose. The purpose of this research is to find out propolis effectivity to inhibit the growth of polibacterial in RAS. Methods. Method that used is tube dilution that continued to cultivation with streaked method at nutrient agar plate and also colony counting. The test subject content is propolis with several concentration 6,43%; 3,21%; 1,6%; 0,8%; 0,4%; 0,2%; 0,1%; 0,05%; 0,02%; 0,01% and the bacteria is swabbed from patient that suffered RAS. Result. The data analysis show that propolis can inhibit the RAS polibacteria growth significantly. Result from the counting of number colony shows that MIC at 0,05% and the MBC at 0,1%. Conclusion. Propolis effective to inhibit the growth of polibacteri in RAS.
