Abstract
Gingivitis is an inflamation of the gingi val. Early epidemiological measures of gingivitis consisted of a visual assesment of redness and edema of the free gingival margin. Gingivitis is More Prevalent among Certaint groups. Young adults have a high prevalence of gingivtis. Periodont itis is an inflamation dis ease of the suppor ting tissue of the teeth caused by specifik microorganism resulting in progressi ve destruction of periodontal ligament and alveolar bone with pocket formation.
