Abstract

Background . Mouth and teeth disease commonly found is dental caries and periodontitis. Increase prevalens of dental caries influence changes diet ary patterns. Consumtion of food with natural sweetener li ke fruits is healty, so body can absorb juice very quickly and can help intestine. But natural juice no sugar can demage tooth because contain high acid and monosacarid. Purpose. The ain of this study was to known acidogenic potential differentsaliva after comsumed appl e juice and orang juice in children. Method. This research was done to children between ages 10-12 years. Children brushteeth 2 minutes, not eat and not drink 20 minutes before experiment. Measure pH begining and give 200 ml apple juice, orange juice in the next day for drink in 2 minutes. Measure pH 10 minutes and 30 minutes to find acidogenic po tential of the comm only consumed fresh fruit juices (orange and apple) on th e saliva at various intervals. Results. Salivary pH begining is netutral 7.025, salivary pH 10 minutes afte r consumed apple juice is 6.493, salivary pH 10 minutes after consumed orange juice is 6.393 and sali vary pH 30 minutes is 6.9. Conclusion. Consumed apple and orange juice can drop acidogenic potential salivary. There were no significant differen ces of consumed apple juice and orang juice
