Abstract
This research aimed to determine the potential for crude fish oil lemuru against total cholesterol levels in broiler meat in order to increase the production of broiler meat is low in cholesterol. Using four treatments with five replications and the number of experimental animals as much as twenty broiler. The examination was conducted with a sample piece of the right of broiler breast meat using the Lieberman-Buchard with spectrophotometer. The results of the examination of broiler meat samples with the addition of crude fish oil lemuru 0%, 1%, 2% and 4% resulted in a decrease in cholesterol levels in the provision of 1%, 2% and 4%. The analysis results of cholesterol levels in broiler meat showed that the administration of feed formula containing crude fish oil lemuru, showed differences (p <0.05). The highest total cholesterol levels found in control (P0) without crude fish oil lemuru with total cholesterol levels of broiler meat is 83.844 mg/100 g, total cholesterol levels of broiler meat was lowest for the treatment of crude fish oil lemuru 4% (P3) with total cholesterol levels of broiler meat is 68.278 mg/100 g and a total cholesterol best level broiler meat treatment contained crude fish oil lemuru of 2% (P2) with total cholesterol levels of broiler meat amounted to 68.281 mg/100 g. Based on the results of this research concluded that crude fish oil lemuru can lower total cholesterol levels in broiler meat from 83.844 mg/100 g to 68.281 mg /100 g at a dose of 2%.
