Abstract

The aim of this study was to identify Avian Influenza virus subtype H5 on quail at Kauman, Blitar. The study was located in Veterinary Virology and Immunology Laboratory Faculty of Veterinary Medicine Universitas Airlangga. The study was conducted from March to May 2015. Ninety samples of cloacal swab from quails were examined by isolation on embryonated SAN chicken egg and Haemagglutination test. The result showed that Avian Influenza virus subtype H5 could not be identified in all swab samples (0%) or showed only 20 titre by Haemagglutination test. Due to the absence of haemagglutination, further Haemagglutination Inhibition test was no need to be done.
