Abstract
This research was to determine Nitrogen Free Extract (NFE) and crude fiber content of water hyacinth (Eichhornia crassipes) that fermented by Actinobacillus sp. ML-08. The design in this study was Completely Randomized Design with four treatments and five replications. Four treatment groups consist of P0 250 gram water hyacinth added with with Actinobacillus sp. ML 08 0%, molasses 2% and urea 1%; P1 250 gram water hyacinth added with Actinobacillus sp. ML 08 5%, molasses 2% and urea 1%; P2 250 gram water hyacinth added with Actinobacillus sp. ML 08 10%, molasses 2% and urea 1%; P3 250 gram water hyacinth added with Actinobacillus sp. ML 08 15%, molasses 2% and urea 1%. Proximate analysis done after water hyacinth was fermented for seven days. The results were analyzed using statistical Analysis of Variants (Anova), followed by Duncan's Multiple Range Test 5%. The result showed that water hyacinth (Eichhornia crassipes) which was fermented by Actinobacillus sp. ML-08 could decrease Nitrogen Free Extract (NFE) and crude fiber content.
