Abstract
The purpose of this research is finding out the effectiveness of commercial sodium hypochlorite with concentration 0,1%, 0,5% and 1% as disinfectant to kill ND virus in vitro. This research is divided into 2 control groups and 6 treatment groups, P0 (control) ND virus 107EID50/ml is incubated at chamber temperature (270C) 45 minutes, P1 (control) ND virus107EID50/ml is incubated at chamber temperature (270C) 60 minutes, P2 (treatment) ND virus and sodium hypochlorite solution which final concentration is 0,1% that incubated at chamber temperature (270C) 45 minutes, P3 (treatment) ND virus and sodium hypochlorite solution which final concentration is 0,1% that incubated at chamber temperature (270C) 60 minutes, P4 (treatment) ND virus and sodium hypochlorite solution which final concentration is 0,5% that incubated at chamber temperature (270C) 45 minutes, P5 (treatment) ND virus and sodium hypochlorite solution which final concentration is 0,5% that incubated at chamber temperature (270C) 60 minutes, P6 (treatment) ND virus and sodium hypochlorite solution which final concentration is 1% that incubated at chamber temperature (270C) 45 minutes, P7 (treatment) ND virus and sodium hypochlorite solution which final concentration is 1% that incubated at chamber temperature (270C) 60 minutes. Every control group must be inoculated into 5 grains of embryonated egg and every treatment group is inoculated into 10 grains of embryonated egg. Then, incubated at 370C in temperature for 5 days. Microtechnique HA test is performed to find out whether virus is growing in embryonated egg or not. Data that already obtained will be analyzed and its result will be reviewed from the most efficient concentration and time that able to kill ND virus. The result of the research shows that commercial sodium hypochlorite solution with contact time 45 minutes and 60 minutes at treatment P2, P3, P4, P5, P6, P7 is effective as disinfectant to kill ND virus. It an be proved with HA test, in which result is different from control group. Commercial sodium hypochlorite with concentration 0,1% and contact time 45 minutes is the most efficient one as disinfectant to kill ND virus in vitro.
